COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for students/professionals wishing to increase their intercultural understanding and gain the tools to build international ties. Students will explore their own culture, begin to perceive the impact of culture on daily life, learn some of the basic theories of cross-cultural communication and work towards achieving cross-cultural competence. Focus is placed on the application of theory and research in intercultural communication. Both cross-cultural (comparisons of communication across cultures) and intercultural (communication between members of different cultures) communication are emphasized.
Kursinnehåll
This course provides a fundamental knowledge of IoT, targeting physical devices, communication and computation infrastructure. The course gives theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on experiences to build an IoT application.
ROS (Robot Operating System) is a common set of tools used in academia to do research within autonomous systems. It shortly provides a middleware for handling communication, as well as interfacing sensors and actuators, visualization, simulation and datalogging and infrastructure where it is easy to share your own methods and algorithms. The latter has allowed a large set of different of state-of-the-art research approaches to be readily available for downloading. Due to its popularity it is also getting more widespread in the industrial community, especially in R&D. This course will give you hands-on experience how to utilize these tools and apply them to a problem of your choice.
In a daily routine every company produces a large amount of data security related and non-security related. Within this course you will learn how to utilize that data for cybersecurity purposes, which tools you should use to extract information out of raw data. It covers topics such as how to acquire (e.g., through SIEM) and prepare security data, from collection and storage to management and analysis as well as visualization and presentation. The course is divided into three modules and will start with an introduction to Data-Driven Security and building the Analytics Toolbox Hello, world. We will the continue with Data Collection and Processing, Network Data Sources and Machine Learning Basics. By the end of the course, you will learn more about security aspects such as Security Data Analysis, Designing Security Dashboards, Visualizing Security Data and Data Collection and Processing.
AGILE PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT Build the required knowledge and skills for efficient cross-disciplinary production development work. The course combines latest theories with practical cases from participating companies. The course gives students the required knowledge and skills for efficient cross-disciplinary production development work. Assignments are based on theory and industrial needs, that will be further developed in practical cases selected in close collaboration with their respectively companies. The students will be trained in agile planning methods/principles and an iterative way of working in a structured manner. The aim is to meet challenges/deviations in production development projects by implementing agile feedback-loops and innovative methods and principles. The course includes the following elements: Knowledge Intensive Product Realisation Challenges in industrial companies Overview processes and change management Organize for Information exchange and learning Agile Project Management Agile history and background, including methods and principles Project management and decision making Organization, collaboration and communication. Iterative development methods Planning, including Visible Planning (VP) Production Concept Development Requirement management, Product architecture and Production system Innovative thinking and activities Tools and methods for innovation and evaluation Production Concept Selection and Decisions Decision support and evaluation of alternatives Tools and methods for concept presentation and selection Implementation and follow-up
If you want to learn principles, methods, tools and project strategies for efficient execution of projects in order to gain high quality competence in industrial project management, this course is for you. The course is suitable for you who work in product development, or with improvements in production, or in an administrative project. You will develop knowledge and skills about how to enhance your project management capabilities and deliver predetermined project results. During the course you will work with and relate what you learn to project management in your company. The phases found in projects are covered; establish, execute, hand-over to line organisation and close-out of the project. Organisational aspects of project management are in focus such as leadership, agility, quality management, communication and decision-making.
The information and communication technology (ICT) sector is responsible for approx. 1.8-2.8% of the global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2020, and software is both part of the problems and the solutions. Traditional software engineering principles and techniques do not consider the climate, environment, and sustainability aspects in building and using software for any purpose. We, software engineers, developers, researchers, climate scientists, and various other related stakeholders, need to think about how we can reduce the carbon footprint due to building and using software-intensive systems. Green and sustainable software engineering is an emerging concept that can help reduce the carbon footprint related to software. In this introductory course, we will introduce the concept of green and sustainable software engineering and the engineering process to build green and sustainable software. Topics Sustainable and green computing Sustainable and green software engineering Process Energy efficient computing Sustainability issues in Scientific computing You will learnBy the end of the course, you will be able to: analyze the green and sustainability issues in traditional software engineering, identify and incorporate key elements to be included in the software engineering process to make the software green and sustainable, and use techniques to make your software code energy efficient. Who is the course for? This course is designed for those who are software developers, managers and software related policy makers, or have knowledge about software development, and want to consider the green and sustainability aspects in their everyday life. Also, this course will be useful for computational scientists who build green software and want to know more about these aspects in software engineering. However, this is an introductory course, and it will show a path for life-long learning to build more in-depth knowledge in each concept introduced in this course.
